Michael has over 30 years of experience in the management, design and co-ordination of building services systems for a wide variety of applications.  His chosen specialisms are lighting design - he is amongst the founder members of the Society of Light and Lighting - and low carbon buildings, for which he has a bachelor degree in Energy Engineering and a masters degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development. 

At Illuminous we focus our efforts on the early concept development of buildings, the strategic planning of energy systems and infrastructure; and exploring opportunities for innovative design.

Accreditation as a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant and Low Carbon Energy Assessor also allow us to analyse and review the energy performance of existing buildings.

Collaboration with other specialist consultancy practices allows smaller practices to punch above their weight with larger projects and maintain a client focus while delivering high quality designs.
